METER
The basic unit of length in the metric system. One meter is approximately 3.3 feet or 39.4 inches.
GRAM

LITER

POUND
A unit of weight in the imperial system used in the United States. One pound equals 16 ounces or approximately 0.45 kilograms.
GALLON
A unit of liquid volume in the imperial system. One US gallon equals 4 quarts, 8 pints, or approximately 3.8 liters.
CELSIUS
A temperature scale used in the metric system where water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees. Most of the world uses Celsius for everyday temperatures.
KELVIN
The base unit of temperature in the SI system, used in science. Zero Kelvin (absolute zero) is the coldest possible temperature, equal to -273.15 degrees Celsius.
VOLUME
The amount of three-dimensional space an object occupies. Volume is measured in cubic units and calculated differently for different shapes.
AREA
The amount of surface covered by a two-dimensional shape. Area is measured in square units, like square feet or square centimeters.
PERIMETER
The total distance around the outside of a two-dimensional shape. The perimeter of a square with 4-inch sides is 16 inches.
