BUTTERFLY
An insect with large, often colorful wings that goes through complete metamorphosis: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa (chrysalis), and adult.
CRICKET
A jumping insect known for the chirping sound males make by rubbing their wings together. Crickets are found on every continent except Antarctica.

A fast, agile insect with large compound eyes and two pairs of wings. Dragonflies are expert hunters that catch prey in mid-air and have existed largely unchanged for 300 million years.
LADYBUG
A small, round beetle typically with a red or orange body and black spots. Ladybugs are beneficial insects that feed on garden pests like aphids.
LOCUST
A type of grasshopper that can form massive swarms of millions of insects. Locust swarms can devastate crops, causing severe food shortages across large regions.
HORNET
A large wasp known for its aggressive defense of its nest. Hornets are social insects that live in colonies and play a role in controlling insect populations.
CICADA
An insect known for its loud buzzing call, made by males vibrating specialized organs. Some cicada species have life cycles of 13 or 17 years, emerging from underground en masse.
